Yes, it is a very nice lens, for the price. I used one from my once best friend. Pity the slow f stop (but a must to keep size down). Also the AF motor stopped working only after 2 months of light use. Repaired under warranty. Biggest problem with Sigma lens is inconsistency...

I do not use this lens often enough. From day one I have been surprised by it's performance, producing very sharp images and lovely colours. Absolute bargain at £120 new. OK the build may not be great, but it is light and has the added bonus of a very useful macro function.

I like this lens in the reach of 70-200mm and in the beginning of it's macro modus.
Saturated colours, good sharpness and good bokeh in macro for a unbeatable price!
It's fairly light and not a beauty.
The most important drawbacks are the creeping (lens can't be fixed and grows longer while carrying) and the slow AF. It's about 50% of the time on my Canon 350D. 40% of the time I use my Tamron 17-50 f/2,8.

This is a terrific lens for the segment and price. Chromatic aberrations are very well controlled even in high contrast situations. A major plus. focusing is relatively silent and faster than competition.
